In this role, you will:

  • The Software Engineering - Sr Prof plays a crucial role in the development of various software types, from end-user applications to operating systems and utility software. Utilizing programming, scripting, and database languages, this role is responsible for writing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software code. Key responsibilities include applying software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, version control, and troubleshooting.

  • Develop multiple software categories with a strong focus on Agile Methodology and ensuring scalability.
    Support the full software development lifecycle, from planning to software deployment, utilizing RESTful and other APIs to enhance functionality.

  • Lead code review and debugging efforts to maintain high-quality code and reduce errors.
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams and coordinate with stakeholders to align software development with business needs.

  • Employ Amazon Web Services for deploying and managing applications in the cloud, ensuring security and efficiency.

  • Drive change management processes, enhancing software features while adapting to scope changes and evolving requirements.

  • Encourage thought leadership and continuous learning within the team, embracing current industry trends and technologies. Foster a detail-oriented and self-motivated work environment conducive to effective communication and stronger collaboration.

  • We are looking for a Senior Solution Engineer to join our Digital Technology Solutions (DTS) organization that will be focused on supporting and evolving a diverse portfolio of in-house developed and commercial off-the-shelf software for Research & Development. The role collaborates with a diverse team of professionals both within and outside if the team.  This includes other software/solution engineers, solution architects, infrastructure teams, business analysts, and customers. This role is viewed as an expert in the R&D application domain and works closely with product owners to lead the operational support and expansion of R&D capabilities.  The individual in this role must demonstrate both technical expertise business process understanding, and advanced concepts in software development and support.  Other important aspects of the position.

  • Leads in software engineering development and support that solves complex strategic and operating problems.

  • Has strong knowledge in business and technical functions that are touch points with their area of expertise.

  • Acts as a resident technical knowledge expert that guides other team members.

  • Applies emerging industry best practices in daily work to accelerate and continuously improve the Research & Development digital domain for Kimberly-Clark and uses resources and his/her network to differentiate.

  • Role will report to the Senior Manager of DTS R&D Platforms the K-C DTS organization that supports the R&D business function. The role will not have any direct reports. Key Interfaces: Product Owner, Business Analyst, Business Customers, Solution Architects, Platform Architect, Data Engineers, Software Engineers, and Scrum Master. External Interfaces: Consultants and software vendors. Travel may include approximately 0-10% of work time.

  • Work closely and collaborate with R&D Platform team members, architects, R&D subject matter experts, and product owners to maintain and evolve robust solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.

  • Lead the development, deployment, and support of internally developed and commercial software R&D applications, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and functionality.

  • Evolve and maintain robust APIs using FastAPI or similar frameworks and Unifi middleware to support the operational needs of application connectivity, data lake connection for data replication, and AI models and services.

  • Apply best practices in MLOps, LLMOps, Data Science, and software engineering to ensure the delivery of clean, efficient, and reliable solutions.

  • Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Work closely with Product Owners and Customer representatives to manage communications and requirements from different stakeholders, ensuring clarity and  alignment on project goals and timelines.

  • Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in the Azure platform, software engineering, and backend technology.

  • Enhance and provide advanced technical support as needed for R&D applications.

In one of our technical roles, you’ll focus on winning with consumers and the market, while putting safety, mutual respect, and human dignity at the center. To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in full stack application development on a variety of custom and off-the-shelf software.

  • Expertise in API development, preferably with Node.js, Express.js, .NET Core, C#, Stored Procedures, and Unit Testing Frameworks

  • Experience in Azure Cloud Native Development, Node.js libraries, Azure DevOps (CI/CD, GIT Branching), MS IIS, Apache

  • Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and Database MSSQL, Cosmos DB, Cache DB (highly desirable)

  • Basic exposure to React.js, JavaScript for API testing 

  • Solid grasp of software engineering principles, SDLC, Security Protocols, OAuth, JWT, OKTA, API Gateway, Encryption, Monitoring, Logging Framework.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work in a team environment, and strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders

  • Experience with Agile practices and the Scrum framework.

  • Demonstrated experience in working with of off-the-shelf software and interfaces, including CAD, LIMS, laboratory instrument technologies, Microsoft Power Automate, and the ability to rapidly learn and expand expertise as part of daily work

  • Bonus Skills: Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure OpenAI Services, Azure Cognitive Services
